Dive into the details of our game-changing collaboration, streamlining content delivery and optimizing project delivery with cutting-edge technology.

Project purpose

Our partnership with PIA UDG started in early 2018 with a pilot project. At that time, our task was to set up a production Sitecore XP environment for a big sport brand. UDG was implementing the software, and they were almost ready to go-live. The main purpose of the project was to automate the release process without any downtime on the content delivery servers.Since then, we worked together with UDG on more than 10 projects and our high-level goal was to deliver the projects together using our best knowledge and optimize our way of collaboration while working together.

Business goals

On the first project our goal was to build a trustworthy long-term relationship with UDG.

The solution

Assign the right people to the right project. Since the start of the collaboration, we have successfully augmented UDG’s highly skilled people with ours in various technical areas.

We have sent our Sitecore developers and technical leads to help them implement a mix of UDG and ALLWIN Sitecore standards on the project. It started with Sitecore MVC but on the recent projects it has been changed to Sitecore Headless technology.

In some cases, it was just one developer at a time, but we also had projects where we provided a team with project managers and a technical lead where parallel implementation of features was a key to deliver the project quickly.

Another technical area was supporting UDG in DevOps – such as setting up environments and CI/CD pipelines which enabled release on a more robust and automated way.
As our first pilot project was related to DevOps and infrastructure, it remained a key factor in our collaboration regardless of technology.

Technology stack

Our collaboration has two main pillars, Sitecore development and DevOps.

Sitecore development

UDG also has Sitecore developer team in-house, so the collaboration with our developers ended up diversing the team and learning from each other and sharing knowledge.

DevOps

In the DevOps role, we used on-premise technologies as well as cloud (Azure Cloud). On our first pilot project we implemented a blue-green deployment on an on-premise environment using IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, Octopus and Team Foundation Server. On the recent projects, which mostly run on Azure Cloud, we use Azure DevOps and Azure Cloud services to build and release Sitecore solutions.

Azure Cloud
Octopus
Azure DevOps
Team Foundation
Microsoft SQL
Sitecore MVC
Sitecore Headless
Sitecore EXM
Apache Solr
Glass.Mapper
Unicorn
The result
The result was a long-term relationship with UDG as we proved on several projects that ALLWIN can easily extend their team and our developers can seamlessly integrate and collaborate.
